πŸ’£ Play Minesweeper online

Open every safe square without hitting a mine. Free, no download, works on phone and computer.

Minesweeper is the classic logic puzzle that has kept people thinking for years. Hidden under the board are mines. Every safe square you open shows a number telling you how many mines are touching it. Use those clues to clear the board without setting one off.

It looks tricky at first, but once the number patterns click, it becomes a wonderfully calm puzzle. Play free in your browser, on mobile or desktop, with no sign-up. For more logic fun, try Sudoku.

How to play Minesweeper

  1. Tap a square to open it. Your first tap is a good way to open up part of the board.
  2. A number shows how many mines touch that square, including diagonals.
  3. An empty square means no mines are nearby, and surrounding squares open automatically.
  4. Mark squares you are sure hide a mine with a flag (long-press, use flag mode, or right-click on a computer).
  5. Open every safe square to win. Opening a mine ends the game.

Tips to score higher

  • Start with the "1" squares – they are the easiest to solve.
  • If a number already has that many flags around it, every other neighbour is safe.
  • Look for common patterns like 1-2-1 along a wall; they repeat often.
  • Only guess when there is truly no logical move left.
