🎲 Play Ludo online

Race your four tokens home against the computer. Free, no download, works on phone and computer.

Ludo is the board game almost every family has played, from summer holidays with cousins to long evenings at home. It feels like pure luck, but every roll gives you a choice, and good choices win more games.

In this version you play against 1 or 3 computer players. Roll a 6 to bring a token out, race around the board, capture opponents on open squares, shelter on safe squares and bring all four tokens home before anyone else. There are no blockades, so the game moves quickly, and a capture or a token reaching home always gives you an extra roll. Play free in your browser with no download or sign-up. How to play Ludo

  1. Choose to play against 1 or 3 computer players. Each player has four tokens in their base.
  2. Roll a 6 to bring a token out onto your start square. A 6 also gives you an extra roll, but three 6s in a row forfeits your turn.
  3. Move tokens around the board by the number rolled, then up your home column to the centre.
  4. Land on an opponent's token on a non-safe square to send it back to base and earn an extra roll.
  5. Start squares and star squares are safe; no captures happen there.
  6. You need the exact number to reach home, and getting a token home gives an extra roll. First to bring all four tokens home wins.

Tips to score higher

  • Bring tokens out early so you have more choices on every roll.
  • Park tokens on safe squares when opponents are close behind.
  • Avoid stopping one to six squares in front of an opponent on a non-safe square.
  • Spread your progress across several tokens instead of racing just one.
  • Capture tokens that are far along; they cost your opponent the most.
